Design and construction of the Suwałki ring road – information on the selection of the bid placed by Budimex SA

The Management Board of Budimex SA announces that on 12 August 2015 it was notified by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Branch in Białystok, about the selection of the bid placed by Budimex SA as the most favourable in the public procurement procedure conducted by limited tender for the "Design and Construction of the Suwałki ring road in the area of the S61 expressway – Section A and Section B".

• Value of the bid: PLN 243,459,000.00 net.
• Commencement date: the date of concluding the contract.
• Deadline: 34 months from the date of concluding the contract. Winter periods (i.e. between 15 December and 15 March) are not included in the completion deadline.
• Guarantee periods: 10 years for the pavement structure (except for the wearing course), acoustic screens, road signage, prefabricated concrete elements and road engineering structures; 5 years for the wearing course; 4 years for thick-film road markings; 3 years for the greenery and 1 year for thin-film road markings.
• Financial terms and conditions:
  • Advance payment: 5% to 10% of the approved gross contractual amount.
  • Payment: 30 days from the day when the Contracting Authority receives a VAT invoice.
  • Performance bond: 10% of the approved gross contractual amount.
• Maximum penalties payable by the Contractor:
  • 20% of the approved gross contractual amount.
• Penalties payable by the Contracting Authority:
  • 15% of the approved gross contractual amount for withdrawal from the contract for reasons attributable to the Contracting Authority.
• The Contracting Authority has the right to claim supplementary damages in excess of the amount of liquidated damages to the amount of damage that has been actually suffered or may be suffered as a result of the Contractor's improper performance of the contract.

The value of the bid exceeds 10% of the equity of Budimex SA.
