Contract for the construction of a sports and entertainment hall in Ziębice signed

On 9 August 2022, Budimex signed a contract with the Ziębice Commune for the construction of a sports and entertainment hall in Ziębice. The investment is to enable sports competitions in such disciplines as volleyball, basketball and handball. In addition, the hall will be used for training purposes, as well as the organisation of concerts and other artistic events.

Representatives of local authorities, coaches, sports activists and school principals were invited to the contract-signing ceremony. On behalf of the commune, the contract was signed by the mayor, Mariusz Szpilarewicz, and the commune treasurer, Maria Grzesik. The general contractor was represented by Andrzej Schmalenberg, Budimex SA Branch Director, Szymon Cienciała, Budimex SA District Director, and Wojciech Lesisz, Budimex SA Commercial Director – Southern Branch.

‘This investment has been talked about for more than 20 years.  Teachers, social activists, coaches, parents and councillors cited many arguments for the construction of this facility. The hall is needed first and foremost for physical education classes for children and teenagers to take care of their development and health. It is also definitely an important argument when choosing a school and a base for talent development. With the opening of the facility, many additional leisure activities will become available for young people. It will also be an important bonding factor for the community of the commune and a meeting place offering many activities, not only sport-related, but also social and economic’, said the Mayor of Ziębice, Mariusz Szpilarewicz.

The hall is to be built within 24 months from the date of signing the contract.

In recent months, it has successfully completed the construction of the Silesian Planetarium in Chorzów, as well as the first stage of construction of the ‘Polfa’ Oncology Medicine Factory in Warsaw’s Tarchomin.
