Construction of the A1 Tuszyn-Piotrków enters the next phase

The construction of the A1 motorway, section A between the Tuszyn and Piotrków Trybunalski Południe junctions, carried out by the consortium of Budimex and STRABAG is entering the next phase. In June of this year, heavy construction works will be carried out for the section excluded from heavy works between the S8 and Generał Władysław Sikorski Avenue.

Therefore, the temporary intersection with traffic lights located there will be removed. Commencement of works in that period will make it possible to open the new (western) carriageway by the end of the year, on which work has been continuing since 2019. Hence, from 08:00 hours on 29 May, the traffic of cars using the A1 in the east/west direction via Twardosławicka Street will be directed to Generał Władysław Sikorski Avenue.

The pedestrian and bicycle crossing under the WA-294, i.e. along Twardosławicka Street, will remain available. The newly constructed overpass over the A1 along Wojska Polskiego Street is ready and awaits administrative actions. Works are ongoing over the entire 16-kilometre long section A of the A1 motorway between Tuszyn and Piotrków. The construction works began in April 2019. The progress of all works is currently at over 38%.
