Construction of a temporary hospital in Białystok competed ahead of time

Budimex has completed assembly works in the temporary hospital in Białystok with almost 100 beds. The Acceptance Report was signed on 25 November. The project involved the adaptation of rooms in the Sports Hall of the Medical University of Białystok to make them fit for activities aimed at counteracting COVID-19.

The building was accepted without any reservations. Budimex signed the contract for this construction project with the Voivod of Podlaskie Voivodeship on 6 November 2020. The project involved the reconstruction and adaptation of rooms in the sports hall and its scope included:

  • constructing 80 cubicles with 1 bed in each and 2 cubicles with ventilators in the sports hall with a total area of 970 square metres, using the agreed drywall technology,
  • connecting required systems to every cubicle and separate rooms in the hall, including an additional system with medical oxygen, a nurse call system and a CCTV system,
  • changing the layout of rooms and rebuilding the back of the sports hall with a total area of 430 square metres, dividing the building into separate clean and dirty zones with required modifications in the electric, telecommunication and water and sewer systems.

About a dozen subcontractors and over 80 workers in total were involved in the project. Work was conducted without time limits in shifts, 7 days a week. The project was funded by the COVID-19 Counteraction Fund.
