Construction in Vilnius Commences
On 29 September 2016, the contract for the construction of the new combined heat and power plant in Vilnius was signed by the consortium consisting of Budimex SA (partner of the consortium with 48.46% participation shares), Steinmüller Babcock Environment GmbH (leader of the consortium), and UAB Kauno dujotiekio statyba (partner of the consortium) with JSC “Vilniaus kogeneracine jegaine” (Employer).
The condition for the project to commence was, including but not limited to, the investor obtaining the resources for financing it. On 31 May this year, the Employer gave green light for the works to commence.
The task covers a “turnkey” construction of a complete waste thermal treatment plant with the system for power and heat generation from biomass incineration process with auxiliary systems. The new combined heat and power plant in Vilnius will have the electrical capacity of ca. 88 MW and heat capacity of 227 MW.
Contract value: EUR 178,290,983 net.
Time limit for completion: 32 months
