National road No 6 is of great importance for Pomerania. It connects the biggest cities of north Poland: Szczecin, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Słupsk and Koszalin. It constitutes a road connection of Polish sea ports, from Świnoujście and Szczecin to the ports of the Tricity. From this road up north other roads, leading to major tourist venues, branch off. It also forms part of the transport corridor connecting the Kaliningrad Oblast with Western Europe and a connection with Lithuania – to Kaunas and Vilnius.
