Budimex signs a contract for the construction of the Olsztyn ring road

On 29 March, Budimex signed a contract with the Olsztyn Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the construction of the Olsztyn ring road. The net value of the contract amounts to PLN 742.3 million.
As part of the project, Budimex will construct a 14.7-km-long section of the S51 dual-carriageway express road from the Olsztyn Wschód (East) junction to the Olsztyn Południe (South) junction. The ring road will bypass Olsztyn, running south-east of the city.
The section to be constructed will include 21 bridge structures:

• 12 flyovers above the express road;
• 3 flyovers along the express road;
• 2 bridges;
• 2 animal passages;
• 1 railway flyover,
• 1 footbridge.

In addition to the main route, Budimex will also build two road junctions: Olsztyn Jaroty and Olsztyn Wschód (East), and service roads, as well as renovating sections of selected local roads. The works are to be completed within 28 months from the date of signing the contract. The implementation time does not include winter periods (i.e. from mid-December to mid-March).
