Budimex SA awarded as part of the “Budowa Roku 2018” competition

The Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians (PZITB) has, for the twenty-ninth time, awarded its annual prizes for best construction investments. Like in preceding years, Budimex SA was among the prizewinners of this prestigious event. This time, the project which won appreciation was a production and warehousing building with amenities and office section and with technical systems. It was built for Nuctech Warsaw Company. “We find the “Budowa Roku” [Construction Project of the Year] award a great distinction, even more so in view of the fact that the jury uses criteria on which Budimex has been placing particular emphasis for years. Those include good work organisation and, consequently, construction site safety,” Dariusz Blocher, the President of Budimex SA, said.

The contract for the investment to be performed for Nuctech was signed in June 2017. As part of the undertaking, a building of over 5.4 thousand m2 in floor area was built in Kobyłka. It comprises a production and warehousing hall and an amenity and office section. The general contractor also built a shelter for testing purposes, a caretaker’s lodge with the relevant installations, and a storage reservoir for rainwater with a capacity of 160.00 m3. The investment also includes the necessary portions of road infrastructure, i.e. a communication route with a fire emergency road, pavements, and parking lots.

“Budowa Roku” is for structures standing out among others in terms of cutting-edge technological solutions used, quality of work, safety of work environment, etc. Last year, Budimex SA received three awards as part of the competition. It won distinctions for its Kraków Zabłocie - Kraków Podgórze railway junction and for designing and constructing a section of the S5 express road between Poznań and Cracow. Its construction work on the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow was also awarded.
