Budimex recognised for its sustainable development
On 21 September, Budimex was honoured with the Award of the Year by the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs – Sustainable Development Leader. The award was received on behalf of the company by Artur Popko – President of Budimex SA.
The award was granted for the activities of Budimex in environmental protection, circular economy, carbon efficiency and social activities. The President of Budimex paid special attention to the social aspects in the acknowledgements.
"We prevent irregularities in relations with other entities: subcontractors and contractors. In the opinion polls of over 300 construction subcontractors in 2022, we were again recognised as the most reliable contractor among all general contractors in Poland." – said Artur Popko – President of Budimex, during the award ceremony. "Thank you for noticing Budimex's efforts for sustainable policies in terms of business, environment and cooperation with local communities – this is a very broad spectrum of activities and responsibilities." – commented Artur Popko, President of Budimex SA, on the granting of the award from the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs.
Particularly important issues for the Budimex Group in the area of ESG are activities involving its own staff, including: Health and safety at work, education, development opportunities, and ethics. According to experts, these issues have been addressed at a high level for many years. In the environmental area, many processes are implemented in emissions reduction, RES, circular economy and transport. Budimex conducts long-term projects supporting residents of communities neighbouring the construction sites carried out by the company and many more. - Budimex's flagship initiatives include: Parent Zone, which creates spaces for the youngest patients and their parents in children's hospital wards, Hello ICE, which aims to improve the safety of children on the roads, and Budimex for Nature, which is focused on pro-ecological activities.
