Announcement of the results of the competition “Construction of the Year 2015”

On 24 May 2016, the Polish Union of Construction Engineers and Technicians (Polski Związek Inżynierów i Techników Budownictwa, PZBITB) awarded the title of Construction of the Year for the 26th time.
PZBITB rewards investments featuring technological innovations, high quality of workmanship, and good organisation of the construction process, as well as a high level of occupational safety and environmental protection.
In this year's edition of the competition, two investments completed by Budimex won the title of “Construction of the Year 2014” (first degree awards) and two second degree awards.
The following projects of Budimex were awarded the title of “Construction of the Year 2014” (first degree award):

• Design and performance of the Augustow ring road within the national road No 8 (section from the Augustow junction to the Szkocja junction) and the express road S61 (section from the Szkocja junction to the Lotnisko (airport) junction) – in the road and railway facilities category;
• Gdynia Film School with an underground car park under the Grunwaldzki Square and development of the Grunwaldzki Square together with the construction of a funicular to Kamienna Gora – in the didactic and laboratory facilities category.

The following investments were awarded second degree awards: 

• Culture Meeting Centre (Centrum Spotkania Kultur) in Lublin with a multi-level underground car park and a theatre square with overground barrows, and the retrofit of the Henryk Wieniawski Music Theatre and Philharmonic in Lublin – in the public utility facilities category.
• Rebuilding of the tramway on the cross-city line from the Torun City junction to the Solidarnosci Avenue in order to improve the communications availability of the old town complex, which is entered in the UNESCO World Heritage list, by ensuring environmentally-friendly transport and construction of a transfer node at the Torun City railway station in order to integrate the cross-city tram line No 1 and other public means of transport with the BiT City Metropolitan Railway – in the road and railway facilities category.

The competition “Construction of the Year” is organised by the Polish Union of Construction Engineers and Technicians in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction, and the General Office of Building Control.
