Budimex has received the "Well-Perceived Company" title ("Firma Dobrze Widziana")

We are happy to announce that Budimex is one of the laureates of the Well-Perceived Company competition organised by the Business Centre Club under the Human Capital Operational Programme. The aim of the competition is to select companies that are perceived as particularly active in the area of corporate social responsibility.

Information on the financial data of the Budimex Group in the first quarter of 2019

The Budimex Group published official results after the first formation in 2019. The sales of the Group in 1Q 2019 increased by 3% and reached the level of PLN 1.4 billion. Profitability of the gross increase in the Budimex Group amounted to 3.3% compared to 6.0% in 1Q 2018. The cost pressure in the construction industry from negatively on the result of the construction segment, gross profit margin dropped to 1.3% (compared to 4.4% in 1Q 2018).

We will build a R&D centre of PKN ORLEN in Płock

On 24 April 2019, Budimex SA signed a general agreement for building the R&D Centre (CBR) of PKN ORLEN in Płock. In the future, CBR will carry out research and development activities related to the refining and petrochemical industry.

Opening of the Parent Zone in Gdańsk

"Parent Zone. Budimex for Children" is a nationwide social program whose aim is to provide sick children and their caregivers with a comfortable place to spend time together. The 29th Zone was established in the Neonatology Clinic and Obstetrics Clinic of the Centre for Noninvasive Medicine, whose general contractor was Budimex.

The Opening of the Museum of the Cursed Soldiers in Ostrołęka

On March 1, the Museum of Cursed Soldiers was opened in Ostrołęka. The Chairman of the Board of Budimex, Dariusz Blocher, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliński, and the Mayor of Ostrołęka, Łukasz Kulik were present at the event. The date of the opening is not accidental. On March 1 we celebrate the National Remembrance Day of the Cursed Soldiers.

Lidl and Budimex launch the largest distribution centre in Poland

This is the largest Lidl distribution centre in Poland and the most innovative in Europe. The scale of the investment can be assessed by the quantity of materials used in its construction: 100 km of cables and wires, over 41,000 m2 of sandwich panels, sufficient to insulate 200 houses, and 58,000 m2 of flooring, an area comparable to over 5 football fields!

Budimex completes the next section of the Olsztyn motorway ring road three months ahead of schedule

On Friday, 1 February 2019, Budimex transferred to the investor, the General Directorate of Roads and Motorways, a ten-kilometre section of the Olsztyn motorway ring road, part of the S51 route between the Jaroty and the Olsztyn East interchanges. The works were completed before the scheduled contractual deadline of 29/04/2019. Work continues on the remaining five-kilometre section from the Jaroty interchange to the west, which will be put into operation by July 2019. After completion of work on this section, the entire 24-km Olsztyn motorway ring road will be passable.

Budimex as the best employer in Poland

The Best Quality Employer 2018 title was given to us by the Central Office of Domestic Certification (CBCK) during an award ceremony that took place on 18 January.

Budimex to build another section of the S19 Via Carpathia expressway

On 21 December, in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk, Budimex S.A. and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) signed a contract for the design and construction of an 8-kilometre section of the S19 Via Carpathia expressway from the Kamień junction to the Sokołów Małopolski North junction. The contract is worth PLN 286 million (about EUR 66 million) gross.

The opening of the Forest School!

In Poland, the first ever Forest Elementary School has opened. A school to completely change our way of thinking about the education system. The school was created by the Trzy czte ry! foundation, with financial support from Budimex. Its grand opening took place on 12 December.

Budimex delivers the first psychiatric hospital in post-war Poland

This is the most modern facility in Poland for people with mental health disorders. The seven-segment building contains nine specialised wards, a modern rehabilitation centre, 300 beds and areas for patients to relax and practice sports. For this project, which was partly funded by its investor, the government of the Mazovian Province, Budimex has implemented ecological solutions and provided a modern design, taking care of even the smallest of finishing details. The construction works took three years, for a project worth over PLN 104 million.

Comment of the President of the Management Board of Budimex SA Dariusz Blocher to financial data from the consolidated financial statements of the Budimex Group  for the first three quarters of 2018

At the end of the first three quarters of 2018 the Budimex Group recorded an increase in sales revenues by 18% compared with the same period of the preceding year, and posted an EBITDA margin of 5.6%. In the third quarter of 2018 the profitability of the Budimex Group was higher and amounted to 6.7%, this being attributable to the recognition of the profit/loss on the sale of the subsidiaries Elektromontaż-Poznań S.A. and Investment Office “Grunwald” S.A. The impact of the transaction on the consolidated financial statements was in line with the preliminary estimate specified in current report no. 64/2018 and amounted to PLN 44 million in the gross profit item.

Budimex seeks more than 1,000 employees and introduces a new recruitment system

Budimex, a general contractor for construction works in infrastructure, industry and energy, as well as general construction, is looking to add more than 1100 new employees by the end of 2019. This, the largest Polish construction company, will be the first company in the construction industry in Poland to introduce an external programme of recommendations for people to work. Everyone, regardless of their occupation, who effectively indicates a suitable employee for a position sought by Budimex will receive a financial reward of up to PLN 2,000.

Budimex-Strabag-ZUE consortium completes modernization of the "inner ring line" in Warsaw

The consortium of Budimex, Strabag and ZUE completed the modernization of railway line no. 20 in Warsaw for PKP PLK. This included building a 4 km track with a new surface for the section Warszawa Zachodnia - Warszawa Gdańska, together with the overhead cables and 4 stops with shelters. Line no. 20 was opened during the night of Saturday to Sunday, 20 - 21 October. This is part of a larger project, which assumes the modernisation of the inner ring line in the capital city, involving the sections Warszawa Zachodnia - Warszawa Gdańska and Warszawa Gołąbki - Warszawa Gdańska. Lines 507 and 509 are under construction.

Cornerstone laid for Polish History Museum

On 11th October, a cornerstone ceremony was held for the Polish History Museum. It was attended by the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliński. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage is the investor, while Budimex is the general contractor. The author of the project is WXCA sp. z o. o. from Warsaw. Currently, Budimex has nearly completed the earthworks under the supervision of an archaeologist. Works are underway to provide a water insulation coating for the underground part of the building and erect the structure using waterproof concrete technology. The foundation slabs, walls and posts are also being created. Despite the construction works starting barely 90 days ago, around 7% of the project is already complete.

Budimex commissions extensions to a research hospital in Białystok

Patients of the modernised University Research Hospital, whose floor space has doubled, can now use the new Dialysis Centre, Clinical Research Centre, and Nephrology Ward. The expansion was a real challenge, because during the works, the hospital remained open, which involved, among other things, the relocation some of the wards and their staff, as well as making sure that utilities were still provided.

Budimex and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways open S5 to traffic on the Leszno South – Kaczkowo section

The formal opening of the 9.5 km section took place on 5 October 2018. This road investment significantly reduces the travel time between Poznań and Wrocław conurbations. Drivers have gained two two-lane roads. Apart from this section, Budimex constructed the Leszno South road node at the intersection with the Regional Road 323.
