Following the scheduled winter stoppage, the consortium of Budimex and Strabag returned to continue the paving work on the A1 motorway, Tuszyn-Piotrków Trybunalski section. The current stage sees the installation of a lean C8/10 concrete base course.

The first stage to be carried out involves ground works. The underground utilities in ul. Oliwska and ul. Łużycka are to be reconstructed, which will take about two months to complete. After the summer holiday period, works will begin on the DK 6 national road, with temporary traffic management being put in place. The peak employment level at the junction construction site will be nearly 100 people.

Budimex joins the ‘We are together. WE HELP’ initiative (Jesteśmy razem. POMAGAMY). We will donate PLN 1 million to help purchase medical equipment for infectious disease units in hospitals. Additionally, we will support setting up a field hospital if necessary.

The first Parent Zone to be opened this year will be in Piotrków Trybunalski! The Children's Ward, where more than a thousand young patients are hospitalized every year, has been selected for the “Parent Zone social programme. Budimex for Children”. In just a few weeks, a space where young patients and their carers can spend time together will be created in the ward.

Higher strength and increased durability of asphalt pavement - these are the main goals of the newly launched SeHePa project, involving Budimex in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology. The technologies developed, based on the action of innovative microcapsules in mineral-asphalt mixtures, will be used in the construction projects implemented by the company.

On 4 February 2020, FBSerwis SA signed a contract with the Sosnowiec Municipality to modernize the street lamps and poles within the Municipality. The contract value exceeds PLN 15.6 million gross.

Budimex has completed work on the revitalization of the historic buildings of the former vodka monopoly factory and the construction of two modern facilities. The complex to open soon has an important place on the cultural and business map of Łódź, as well as being another large project in Budimex’s portfolio of building projects. The facility has been nominated for MIPIM Awards 2020! The investor is Virako sp. z o.o. Grupa 5 Architekci architectural studio was responsible for the design.

Works on the section of the DW936 provincial road, being part of the ring road of Mielec, are coming to an end. One of the completed elements performed within the project is a bridge across the Wisłoka River. The gross value of the contract is PLN 39 million. Drivers will be able to use the new section connecting Chorzelów and Rzędzianowice in April 2020.

Budimex S.A. has signed a contract with Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji in Warsaw for the performance of the “Construction of the Vistula collector - stage II” project. The net value of the contract is PLN 348.98 million.

On the 8th of January, Budimex S.A. signed a contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Białystok for the construction of the S8 expressway section from the end of the ring road of Suwałki to Budzisko with the ring road of Szypliszki. The implementation of the contract under the “design and build” system will last until October 2022.

On 23 December, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk took part in the opening of Częstochowa Orbital Motorway, constructed by a consortium composed of Budimex, Strabag and Budpol.

Budimex has finalised works on the 18.9-kilometre-long section of the S5 expressway. Drivers have been able to use this new, modern road connecting  Poznan and Wroclaw since 14 December this year. One of the most important contracts in the Greater Poland Voivodeship was completed according to schedule. The investor is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Poznan Branch.

Budimex ended the first edition of the ‘Hello ICE’ programme with town safety, a first aid lesson, and a training session with the programme ambassador – Sebastian Mila. As part of the programme, primary school students learned about road safety for nearly half a year. The grand finale took place at No 6 Primary School in Gdynia on 10 December.
