Budimex wins “CSR Gold Leaf” from Polityka weekly.

Budimex was awarded a CSR Gold Leaf by the Polityka weekly, the highest distinction in this ranking. It is the most prestigious and valuable CSR award in the market, which this year saw only fourteen companies being awarded, including PKN Orlen, Santander, Millenium, Polpharma, Tauron Polska and Energia SA.

“Responsibility and commitment are a natural part of our market philosophy. As a general contractor, we meet deadlines and fulfil obligations towards our investors. We manage large and long-term social programmes: Parent Zone and Hello ICE. Over half a million children have benefited from them so far,” says Cezary Mączka, a Member of the Management Board of Budimex SA, responsible for CSR activities.

Polityka, the Deloitte consulting company and the Responsible Business Forum together prepare an annual ranking of CSR Gold, Silver and White Leaves.

The CSR Gold Leaf is for those companies which regard the implementation of the guidelines included in ISO 26000 as an essential element of their strategic activities in business and in relationships with the stakeholders, including employees. Such companies base their activities on the best local and global management practices and apply international standards. Moreover, an important element of managing their ESG factors is a comprehensive ethics management system, as well as a written and publicly available document which defines the principles of business conduct and the highest standards of staff management. “We regularly inform the public about the results of our actions by publishing non-financial or integrated reports based on international standards, which are externally and independently verified,” adds Cezary Mączka.

Budimex has also advanced in other CSR business rankings. In the list of responsible companies (by the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily), it was ranked 6th, a jump forward by 12 positions compared to the previous year, when it occupied 18th place.
