Tram track bed reconstruction in Toruń - new contract by Budimex Budownictwo Sp. z o.o.

The Management Board of Budimex SA notifies that on 28 November 2013 Budimex Budownictwo Sp. z o.o. (a 100% subsidiary of Budimex SA) signed a contract with the Miejski Zakład Komunikacyjny w Toruniu Sp. z o.o. [The Municipal Transport Company in Toruń], representing the Municipality of the Town of Toruń, for the “Construction works including design (i.e. design and build project) under the task named Reconstruction of the tram track bed along the radial line from the Toruń Miasto junction (pl. 18-tego Stycznia) to al. Solidarności, improving the transport availability of the Old Town Complex listed by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage Site, by virtue of environment-friendly transport” and “Construction of transfer junction at the Toruń Miasto Railway Station, integrating the radial line No 1 and the other public transport with the BiT City metropolitan railway, under the Project named Integration of the municipal transport system and purchase of tram rolling stock in Toruń – BiT City (Part A)” and construction works under Sub-Project I “Road traffic management system, under the Project named Development of tram communication network in Toruń in the years 2007–2013 together with accompanying activities (Part B)”.

• Contract value: PLN 44,469,118.98 net.
• Works commencement date: 7 days of signing the contract.
• Works completion date: 30 May 2015 as regards Part B and 30 September 2015 as regards Part A.
• Guarantee period: 60 months.
• Financial conditions:
  • Payment: 30 days of invoice submission to the employer.
  • Performance bond in the form of a bank guarantee: 10% of the gross contract value.
• Maximum penalty: 20% of the agreed gross contractual amount
• The employer may claim damages exceeding the value of the contractual penalty.

The contract value exceeds 10% of the equity of Budimex SA.
