The entire new Museum complex has approx. 25,000 sq. m floor area, including new and restored premises. The museum occupies the former site of Katowice coal mine. The project involved the construction of the following: The Main Building of the Silesian Museum, multi-storey car park and hall, which constitutes the focal point of the Museum Quarter. Also the area was revitalised with a view of converting into a park area accessible to the public. The scope of works included the installation of control and protection systems. The total floor space of the building is 36,000 sq. m. The net value of the project is PLN 169 million.
