Budimex will rebuild the state road no. 12.

On 14 June 2017 in Chełm, Dariusz Blocher, the President of the Board at Budimex SA, signed with the Municipal Roads Administration a contract for rebuilding the state road no. 12. The contract is to be executed in the "plan and build" model. The investment will contribute to the improvement of the road infrastructure, which has a direct impact on improving road safety.

 

The project includes rebuilding the state road no. 12 within Chełm town limits at the approx. 8.2-km-long section, including rebuilding and building any necessary accompanying infrastructure. The beginning and the end of the section to be rebuilt are located on the junction of the town sections of the road within the administrative limits of the town of Chełm with sections managed by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.

 

Budimex not only will rebuild the state road no. 12 but will also be responsible for preparing the technical design. Works will include a comprehensive reconstruction of ul. Rejowiecka, Al. Przyjaźni, ul. Rampy Brzeskiej and ul. Wschodnia. The investment program also includes rebuilding the bridge over the Uherka River, rebuilding the road-bridge over the former industrial spur within the Al. Przyjaźni road line, building a new road-bridge over railroads and building bus stops, noise barriers and more than 8 km of bike lanes. The design work itself will take up to a year and a half, and the works will be completed in 2020.

 

The net value of the contract is PLN 96.33 million net.

 

The Chełm project will be co-financed with European funds under a tender announced by the Center for EU Transport Projects. The main idea is to increase the transport accessibility of urban centers in the Trans-European Road Network (TEN-T). To rebuild its section of the state road no. 12, Chełm will receive EU support in the amount of PLN 170 million.
